Schenectady Swimmer Wins Sectionals
Boese is the first SHS swimmer to win Sectionals

Congratulations to Schenectady High School swimmer Sam Boese, who won the Sectional championship in the 50 Freestyle on Saturday, February 18.  Boese, a senior, is the first Schenectady swimmer to ever be crowned Sectional champion.

Schenectady swimmers have come close in the past with many second place finishes at Sectionals, but until now, none have taken the top spot.  "We are extremely proud," said Schenectady Coach Brian Melanson.

Boese won the 50 freestyle with a time of 22.31.  He also took 3rd place in the 100 butterfly.

Junior Austin Liebers placed 6th in diving and senior Chris Dobson finished 8th in the Backstroke and 11th in the 100 freestyle.

As a team, Schenectady finished in 7th place overall.
