Lincoln Third
Grader Leads the Way
Collecting Pennies Of Hope in Fight Against Cancer
Connor, a third
grader at Lincoln Elementary School has been working hard to
raise money for the American Cancer Society. He recently
got his school to jump on board and help with his efforts
through Pennies of Hope. Since November, Connor and
Lincoln School have raised $250.
Connor explains
why this effort is important to him. He wrote on
his relay page, "I
am relaying with my mom for the 2nd year in a row because I want
to see cancer go away! I've lost several special people to
cancer. I don't want that to happen to my mom or to me."
Connor said the
donations will help the American Cancer Society fund
groundbreaking cancer research, provide up-to-date cancer
information, advocate for all people to have access to screening
and treatment, and offer free programs and services to improve
the quality of life for people facing cancer.
His goal is to
collect $400 by May.
