Mont Pleasant Middle School
FCCLA
Chapter Observes National FCCLA Week
Members of the Mont Pleasant Middle School
Family, Career and Community Leaders of
America (FCCLA) joined more than 220,000
members in celebrating National FCCLA Week
Feb. 11-17. This year's theme was "LOL :)
Live Out Loud!" During National FCCLA Week,
members plan and carry out activities to
address teen and societal concerns and show
how Family and Consumer Sciences Education
can help them achieve the ultimate
leadership experience.
The Mont Pleasant Middle School members are
celebrating by assisting the Leukemia and
Lymphoma Society with their "Pennies for
Patients" campaign. Each grade selected a
project to help with the fundraising. The
students will be able to guess the number of
candies in a jar, attend a school dance and
some are helping around the school for
donations. The goal is to collect $100.00
for this cause. FCCLA members made and sent
fifteen back sacs to a local soldier in Iran
where he will distribute them to children.
The back sacks have been filled with school
supplies. MPMS FCCLA has more than 60
members.

dynamic and effective
national student
organization that helps
young men and women become
leaders and address
important personal, family,
work and societal issues
through Family and Consumer
Sciences Education. FCCLA
has more than 220,000
members and nearly 7,000
chapters from 50 state
associations and the
District of Columbia, Puerto
Rico and the Virgin Islands.
The organization has
involved more than 10
million youth since its
founding in 1945.
Family, Career and Community
Leaders of America is unique
among youth organizations
because its programs are
planned and run by student
members. It is the only
