The Schenectady City School District’s Disaster Relief Fund
Many
thanks to those of you who contributed to the Schenectady
City School District's Disaster Relief Fund, which was
initiated a few months ago to help our employees who were
impacted by the fall flooding.
Employees were invited to make contributions to the fund by
writing a check or through payroll deductions.
A
committee of Employee Association Leadership and members of
the district met to set up and outline how the fund will
work as well as determine who the recipients should be.
Through
your generosity, $4,425 was collected. Superintendent
Yagielski has distributed checks from the fund to employees
who were victims of the recent Hurricane Irene and Tropical
Storm Lee.
