The Pregnant and Parenting Teens (P3T) Program

The program for Pregnant and Parenting Teens is an alternative program available to a student upon doctor’s verification of pregnancy.  Students participate in a conference to develop an individual graduation plan that includes parenting course work.  Students at Schenectady High School meet with a teacher resource counselor who provides academic support and coordination with home tutoring at time of delivery.  Students participate in a parenting course that addresses current and future issues related to raising a healthy child.  Emotional and social growth of the teen parent and the child are concerns of the program as well as completion of an academic program
