Update
Student Focus Groups

Schenectady High School students are participating in focus groups to share their thoughts, opinions and ideas about how Schenectady High School should be restructured.  Thus far, 387 students have participated in face-to-face interviews with a member of Pupil Personnel Services or guidance. The students were selected randomly during lunch, study halls, library sessions and while visiting the guidance career center.   During the interviews, the students are asked specific questions about how they feel on an array of restructuring topics.  They can be as general or specific as they like. They can choose to answer or not answer some or all of the questions.   The students can answer “yes” or “no” or talk extensively on a topic and elaborate further.  They also have an opportunity to meet individually with the interviewers of the focus group.  Confidentiality is respected.

The survey results of these interviews have been documented and summarized.  Student focus groups will continue to meet.  The data below will continue to be updated.
