Student Focus Groups

The survey results of these interviews have been documented and summarized.  Student focus groups will continue to meet.  The data below will continue to be updated.

Total Students Interviewed:  429

Students like sports, clubs and activities (53), rotating schedule (40), having a choice of houses (36) and the art, music and dance classes (34) the most at Schenectady High School.  Some students said they like their teachers (16), diversity (13, class sizes (12) and having a variety of classes (12).

Students indicated that they don't like crowded halls (86), lunch (60)  and escorts (49).  Some indicated that there is not enough time between classes (41).  Students don't like fights.  Some don't like their teachers.  Some think the school is too strict and believe that students need more independence.
