Running for a seat on the board of education

Three board of education seats are up for election on May 21, 2019.  Two of the seats are for full 3-year terms.  One seat will be for a 2-year term.  The latter is currently held by Mark Snyder, who will vacate his seat two years before the term is complete.

In order to get on the ballot, one must:

Reside within the attendance zone of the school district for at least one year immediately preceding the election.  Please complete the residency affidavit.

Certify that you are a qualified voter.

Not be an employee of the Schenectady City School District.

Present at least 100 legible signatures.

You can download the nominating petition or pick it up from the clerk of the board, Monday - Friday between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. in the Central Office located at 108 Education Drive (in the back of Mont Pleasant Middle School).
