Installment Due Dates
First installment is due penalty-free by August 31,
2010.
Second
installment is due penalty-free by November 1, 2010.
Third
installment is due penalty-free by January 31, 2011.
Fourth
installment is due penalty-free by May 2, 2011.

Why the
first tax collection period was changed
The Schenectady City School District adjusted the first tax
collection period from July 1 to August 1 with payment due by
August 31.
The first tax
collection period was changed because of the timing of the
finalized tax roll (July 1) and so that the mailed tax bills
will reflect any revisions made after July 1.
Since the tax roll is finalized on July 1, the district receives
the roll from the city on or shortly after July 1.
The district then sets the tax rate and generates the tax bills.
Tax roll changes or revisions sometimes occur after July 1.
The installment change helps ensure that the district has the
most accurate tax roll and that it reflects any changes or
revisions prior to generating the tax bills.
Tax Payments
Schenectady residents have the option of mailing their
school tax payments to the Board of Cooperative and Educational
Services
(BOCES), who will administer the service or pay taxes
in person at any of the Key Bank branches within the city.
