Are you interested in running for the board of education?
Two seats on the Schenectady City School District Board of Education are up for election on May 18, 2021.  Each of the seats is for a three-year term.

In order to get on the ballot, a person must:
  • Reside in the school district for at least one year immediately preceding the election and complete the residency affidavit.

  • Certify that you are a qualified voter.

  • Not be an employee of the Schenectady City School District.

  • Submit the nominating petition with at least 50 legible signatures.  You can download the nominating petition here. Note:  Typically 100 signatures are required. Legislation was passed in 2021 reducing the number of required signature to 50 on petitions for small city school districts in voting year 2021 only.
You can download the nominating petition or pick it up from Martha Morris, clerk of the board, on Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. in the superintendent's office located in the district central offices, 108 Education Drive (in the rear of Mont Pleasant Middle School).
